Helldivers 2 is expected to restart the series eight years later, and there’s a lot to be excited about.

Helldivers 2, the sequel to the popular PS4-era shooter, has made a significant shift from the original’s top-down view to a new third-person perspective. This change has been well-received, with players appreciating the closer view of the action and the comedic tone that channels low-budget action film vibes.

The game offers a wide range of deadly gadgets, adding to the strategic depth and customization options. These gadgets play a central role in the gameplay, from deploying turrets to keep areas clear of hostiles, to using a floating robot for suppressing fire.

However, there are concerns about the game’s long-term content. As of now, it only has two enemy factions and procedurally generated levels that can feel a bit repetitive. There’s also no clear live-service roadmap at launch.

Despite these concerns, Helldivers 2 has been praised for its smooth third-person shooter mechanics and the variety of enemies, from chainsaw-armed androids to heavily armored beetles. The game’s over-the-top gore and patriotic pageantry have been compared to Starship Troopers, making it a potential favorite for co-op play.

Helldivers 2: How many players can play in co-op mode?

Helldivers 2 includes a co-op mode for teams of up to four players. This means you can ask up to three pals to join your party in-game. The entire experience revolves around co-op, so the more buddies you have, the easier it will be to finish tasks and strategize against those terrifying aliens. However, there is no local co-op, so you and your buddies will have to use different devices to team up and play matches.
