Fade, Valorant’s terrifying initiator has become one of the meta’s most popular agents. You’ve come to the right place if you’ve been trying to figure out how to get the most out of the Turkish agent’s powerful information-gathering abilities.

Fade is a strong initiator who is developing into a far more aggressive alternative to Sova. Her kit allows her to hunt and trap her opponents while applying constant pressure to allow her team to take space.

We’ll show you how Fade can help her team gain an advantage over their opponents in this Fade guide.

How To Play Agent Fade

Fade is a cross between Sova and Skye, two other initiator agents. The Turkish agent, like Sova, can reveal the location of the enemy while also blinding and deafening her opponents.

As an attacker, she can assist her team in gaining control of sites by locating the defenders’ locations so that her allies can prepare for the necessary duels.

On defense, she can strike from the shadows, shooting through smoke as the enemy team approaches a location. Her abilities can also be used to clear positions during retakes.

Agent Fade Haunt Ability

Fade’s Haunt is her signature ability and the centerpiece of her toolkit. The all-seeing orb will reveal the location of enemies caught in its line of sight for two seconds after it lands. While opponents can destroy it, they must reveal their position when shooting at it.

It has a 40-second cooldown, similar to Sova’s Recon Bolt, but the key difference is that Haunt grants opponents caught in its gaze a powerful “Marked” debuff. Fade and her team can track down their opponents by following the 12-second-long black trails they leave behind.

Haunt can stick to roofs as well, revealing enemies in a wide radius if you know the right lineups. Because it pings enemies much faster than Sova’s dart, enemies are more likely to notice it before they can destroy it.

Another effective way to use this ability is to throw it from smoked-out areas of the map. Wait for the enemy team to smoke your location, for example, if you’re defending Heaven on Ascent’s A site. When they do, summon Haunt and shoot the revealed targets through the smoke.

Hold and Wait to Use Seize Ability

Seize ensnares opponents in a wide area of effect. Once opponents are trapped, the orb cannot be destroyed and enemies are trapped within its radius for four and a half seconds.

It is best used as a defender to slow incoming rushes. Tethered opponents will also take 75 decay damage, giving Fade and her teammates an advantage in a gunfight.

Seize can also be used to obstruct or delay defenders’ retake attempts. If the opposing team is attempting to coordinate their retake, throwing this orb of nightmare ink can help disrupt their plan.

Furthermore, when combined with other abilities such as Raze’s Paint Shells grenades, KAY/FRAG/MENT, O’s, or even Viper’s Snake Bite, Seize can be devastating. Opponents will bear the full brunt of these abilities, resulting in a lethal combination.

Clean Corner with Prowlers

The way Prowler locks onto targets in its frontal vision cone is similar to Raze’s Boom Bot. It can also be steered in the same way that Skye’s Guiding Light flash can.

This ability is ideal for clearing corners and scanning for potential lurkers without putting yourself in danger. Combine it with Haunt to send it on the trail of marked enemies, inflicting near sight if it reaches them.

Hunt your opponents with her Nightfall ultimate

Fade’s ultimate has a similar area-of-effect to Breach’s Rolling Thunder, appearing on the mini-map as a large rectangle. Enemies affected by Nightmare will become decayed, deafened, and marked, making them easy targets.

One of the most significant advantages of Nightfall is the deafening debuff. It muffles all footsteps, so your opponents won’t be able to hear you as you approach. This also allows teammates to play more aggressively and directly challenge opponents.

It may also enable agents with movement abilities to reposition themselves without being detected. Omen, for example, can use Shrouded Step to sneak behind enemy lines because they won’t be able to hear the ability being used.

Fade is all about taking information

You must be methodical in your play if you want to maximize Fade’s abilities. Always keep corners clear and use Haunt to find out where your opponents are.

When you have the utility to clear a dangerous angle, don’t dry peek it. Instead, use your kit to collect data and collaborate with your teammates to time the right execution.
