Jujutsu Kaisen has concluded the Shinjuku Showdown arc, and the latest episode of the series has thrown a wrench in the Culling Game with a surprise hidden bargain between Sukuna and Kenjaku if all goes wrong!
Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga has been heating up as the confrontation against a fully powerful Sukuna has lived up to all of the series’ previous buildup. Because, while Kenjaku had a grand strategy for the Culling Game, it turned out that Sukuna was going to be the primary threat to be dealt with.
Even Kenjaku and Sukuna themselves knew this, as when fans last saw Kenjaku confront Yuta Okkotsu, Yuta seemed to have successfully fended off the threat. With Yuta defeating Kenjaku, Sukuna is now the last one to move forward with the ultimate plan for the Culling Game. In the final chapter of the series, it is revealed that the backup plan for the two was for Sukuna to merge the mass of evil curses with Tengen and stage the true finale of the Culling Game.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Kenjaku and Sukuna’s Plan B
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 248 reveals that Yuji and Higuruma’s plan to take down Sukuna was unsuccessful and Sukuna managed to survive an attack from the Executioner’s sword. As the fight continues, Sukuna becomes even more frustrated as Yuji refuses to give up. It’s something she has to deal with during the battle itself, and she decides to throw herself completely into this rage and simply destroy the world. It is here that she activates a new rule of the Culling Game, giving herself the authority to activate the Culling Game’s final fusion with Tengen.
As a failsafe, Sukuna is given the power to merge the mass with Tengen as a result of Yuta defeating Kenjaku. After all is said and done, Sukuna declares he will merge it with Tengen, kill the other Culling Game players, and then fight Tengen. In the process of destroying Yuji’s hope, he plans to destroy the rest of humanity as well.
