According to a report on the social media platform VK by Russian insider John Knyaziev, NaVi will part ways with CS:GO head coach Andrij “B1ad3” Ghorodensjkyj and young player Andrij “npl” Kukharsjkyj.

Initially reported by Escore News, this news comes just one week after NAVI’s underwhelming performance at the BLAST Paris Major, the final CS:GO Major ever. On May 16, the Ukrainian squad was eliminated by FaZe Clan in the Legends Stage, preventing them from qualifying for the playoffs.

Prior to meeting FaZe, NAVI had the opportunity to qualify by defeating tier-two team Monte, but they were outplayed by their former member Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev. NAVI hadn’t won a tournament since the BLAST Premier Spring Final in June 2022, when they were still using sdy rather than npl.

Despite the trophy drought, they qualified for the BLAST Paris Major as Legends owing to their outstanding performance at the Europe RMR in April. There were high expectations for the squad to make the playoffs, especially given that star player s1mple is regarded as the best CS:GO player of the decade.

B1ad3 has been with NAVI since March 2019 and was named head coach in September 2019. He was instrumental in the team’s victories at prominent events such as IEM Cologne in July 2021, ESL Pro League season 14 and the Intel Grand Slam in September 2021, and, most significantly, the PGL Stockholm Major in November 2021.

Npl, a former NAVI academy player, has been a regular starter since December 2022. He was named their official fifth player before of the 2023 season, although he has yet to make an impression in tier-one CS:GO, completing the BLAST Paris Major as one of the tournament’s weakest players. B1ad3 also admitted that the 17-year-old is not on the “same level” as his teammates. during the Major.

NAVI will compete in the BLAST Premier Spring Final, a $425,000 tournament held from June 7 to 11, therefore any team changes are unlikely before then.
