Twitch Drops, a brand new feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, allows players to earn rewards simply by watching a Twitch streamer. Twitch Drops have been around for a while; they were used to gain access to the VALORANT beta in 2020, for example. Call of Duty, on the other hand, has never done Twitch Drops on a regular basis. However, this is changing with MW2.

Players can earn Twitch Drops right away when MW2 launches on October 28th, as announced in a blog post earlier today. The promotion will end on November 6, so players must act quickly if they want to receive the rewards from the drops. We’ll go over how to get the drops and what rewards players can get from them below.

Before players can even think about earning those rewards in MW2, they need to ensure their Twitch and Activision accounts are linked. Players can do this by following the steps below:

  • Go to Activision’s website https://bit.ly/CODTwitchLink
  • Log in with your primary Activision account that you’ll be playing MW2 on
  • Look at the list of connections and find the Twitch one at the bottom of the page
  • Click on the “Link Account” box next to the Twitch box
  • Log in with your Twitch credentials
  • Go back to your Activision profile and ensure that the “Link Account” box has changed to “Unlink”

After you’ve completed those steps, you must wait until October 28 for the release of MW2. Then, look for a Twitch streamer who has MW2 Twitch Drops enabled on their channel. The streamer’s channel page will reflect this. You must watch that streamer, or any other, for a total of 60 minutes to earn all of the possible rewards.

After that, all of your Twitch Drops will be displayed on your Twitch screen. If you’ve earned all of them, they’ll be waiting for you the next time you play Modern Warfare 2. Here are all of the Twitch Drops rewards, as well as how many minutes you need to watch for each of them.
