Assassin’s Creed Red Could Arrive Sooner Than Expected
By: Hypron || Sept 9, 2023
Assassin’s Creed Red, the long-awaited Assassin’s Creed game set in feudal Japan, may arrive earlier than planned. Assassin’s Creed is perhaps Ubisoft’s most successful franchise, having been in production since 2007. Since its inception, the stealth-action series has changed significantly. The series transformed from an annualized franchise to one that only releases a new game every few years. It evolved into more of an RPG, complete with dialogue options, skill trees, and other features. Some fans prefer the new method, while others prefer the original formula, which will be used in the next Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.
Ubisoft, on the other hand, has a slew of Assassin’s Creed titles in the works. There’s a game set in feudal Japan, another about witches, a rumoured version of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and much, much more. It’s a series that Ubisoft cherishes and will most likely milk until the well runs dry. Part of the reason they went away from yearly entrants was because sales were low and there was franchise fatigue, but that could change shortly. According to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, Assassin’s Creed Red will be released around the holiday season of 2024, most likely between October and December. It was noted that this could change, but the reported current plan is that Ubisoft will be releasing new Assassin’s Creed games in back-to-back years. This would be the first time this has happened since 2015.
Of course, Ubisoft has gone three years without releasing a new Assassin’s Creed game, as opposed to bi-annually in the past, and there are many, many teams working on the series. This does not necessarily imply that the game will be hurried. Insider Gaming also revealed additional information about the game’s new features.
Assassin’s Creed Red Gameplay Details
According to the rumor, Assassin’s Creed Red would mirror parts of Splinter Cell’s gameplay elements. It will have features for extinguishing lamps, using shadows for stealth, hiding bodies, and much more. Players will also be able to choose between a male Samurai and a female Shinobi. Assassin’s Creed Red will also allegedly involve environmental destruction. It was made clear that this does not allow you to collapse over buildings, but it does allow you to chop your way through a closed door. Similarly, if you have a tool that can destroy something, it is likely that you will use it.
