A new Nintendo Switch prototype has leaked online, giving Nintendo fans an early peek at the console. On Twitter, Nintendo’s enthusiast, Forest of Illusion, recently announced that they had acquired an early Nintendo Switch system from a Hong Kong vendor dating back to April 2016, almost a year before the Nintendo Switch was released and not long before it went into production. And as Forest of Illusion points out, this is the first Nintendo Switch model to be found so far.

“We’ve secured the production of the Nintendo Switch System (EDEV) from a vendor in Hong Kong,” the Twitter post reveals. “The unit is from about April 2016, making it the first Switch to be found so far, almost a whole year before the retail release.
