Vitality Sign "Kyojin" To Replace "RpK"

Vitality has announced Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van as their new fifth player. Cédric “RpK” Guipouy, who is set on one last hurrah with the squad, will be replaced by the rookie, who has only played 19 maps on record.

Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam, the team’s coach, characterized their new signing as a “special player” with “untapped ability and immense potential,” adding that he hopes to “help him develop in the footsteps of his predecessor.”

Kyojin’s addition to the squad is similar to that of Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier, who joined Vitality as a 17-year-old talent in March of 2020. Kyojin will make his French debut at the age of 22, but XTQZZZ and co. seem intent on developing him into a player who can fill the anchor position left vacant by RpK.

Following reports of a VAC ban linked to him, Kyojin declared at the beginning of April that he was able to participate in Valve-sponsored activities. The player, who said that the news “would possibly change my life,” had long sought clearance from the developer.

RpK and Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom have joined Vitality’s bench. The latter was dropped last month, with the team citing player-swapping suspensions in RMR events as the reason for abandoning their six-man lineup strategy.

Vitality owner Fabien “Neo” Devide explained the change by pointing out that Kyojin and Nivera play different positions on the server and that the 22-year-old is one of only a few players in France who can fill RpK’s shoes.
