The CSGO community stood still on November 28 after Freddy ‘KRIMZ’ Johansson announced he was VAC banned. Valve by no means specified why, which made the situation a bit of a mystery. “It appears that my account got vac banned,” he stated. “CSGO are you able to repair this asap pls.”

It appeared like he was probably more confused than anybody else and was adamant he’d done nothing wrong.

CSGO enthusiasts assume he could have been banned for the use of a third-party tool named esportal to find matches. However, there has been no official word to support it.

Andreas Samuelsson, the head coach of the Fnatic CS: GO team, stated after KRIMZ’s ban that he hoped the issue could be fixed in short order “to clear up all speculations and solve the problem.” Samuelsson also said Fnatic did now no longer agree with KRIMZ had purposefully used an “illegal program.”

Although KRIMZ almost certainly has more than one CS: GO accounts, the banning of his 10-year-old account would have forced him to play the game on other accounts for official matches. KRIMZ and Fnatic are scheduled to play Dignitas in Flashpoint 2 tomorrow.

Interestingly, Valve nonetheless hasn’t defined why they banned KRIMMZ in the first place. KRIMMZ hasn’t elaborated on it either.

In the end, though, the key takeaway is that it appears to have been a mistake. The CSGO community is pleased to have its favourite son back.
