While LCS organization, TSM, may have lost legends in Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng withinside the offseason, they have got scored a major win by signing ex-Dignitas and EG player, Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon, as their new top-laner.

Despite being a Worlds finalist with a reputation as one of the best in the game, Huni has faced some hard times in the LCS. After a record-breaking deal with Dignitas that grew to become bitter in Spring, the Korean import took a less-prioritized reserve position in Evil Geniuses alongside Colin “Kumo” Zhao.

Huni was able to get some playing time with EG’s fringe mid-laner Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer, but the squad couldn’t break out of the mid-table in the summer and finished 6th in each regular season and playoffs.

As for TSM, the 2020 season was a bittersweet one for Bjergsen and the boys. After winning their 7th LCS title, the TSM squad would underperform at Worlds 2020, setting an infamous 0-6 record for the worst performance of a first-seed team.

With such disappointing results, the organization has turned to a big roster overhaul. With Bjergsen now in the head coach role and Doublelift retiring, TSM has brought in players like Huni to create a more potent competitive roster.

Huni joins the 2021 line-up as another veteran with Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage and Hu “SwordArt” Shuo-Chieh. As a top-laner, he’ll also be forming a synergy with young gun jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu.

As an old protect in the League competitive scene, Huni is aware that he can still accomplish a lot despite the fact that he’s had a few awful seasons.

“Maybe I’m not playing well, but I’m quite certain I can show all of the haters wrong and I’m just gonna be play well like Huni,” said the new top-laner. “This year might be my ultimate shot to show myself.”

Huni was considered one of the best top laners during his time in Korea. His 11-month stint with SK Telecom T1 was his most successful season to date. He gained MSI 2017, the 2017 LCK Spring Split, and finished 2nd at Worlds in the same yr.

But when you consider that 2018, Huni has played in the LCS to varying success. He won the 2019 LCS Regional Finals with Clutch Gaming, beating TSM 3-2 in the finals, but couldn’t make it out of the group stage at Worlds 2019.

With Huni now filling in the top-lane, TSM’s 2021 line-up is looking to be a top contender for the LCS. With four members already locked down, the org may be looking for NA-resident ADC to complete its roster.
