Tencent has issued a statement clarifying the scenario surrounding Pubg mobile in India. The publishers have said that the Indian users will no longer have access to the sport from October 30, 2020.

This, in line with Tencent, is a step that has to be taken to conform with the interim order issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, which banned over 100 programs citing concerns over data security.

The rights to publish PUBG Mobile in India will henceforth be vested back into the hands of the original owner of the IP.

In layman’s terms, you’ll now no longer be capable of play Pubg mobile even when you have the APK installed if you live in India.

PUBG Mobile has been developed by Krafton Game Union, which is a subsidiary of the South-Korean company Bluehole Incorporated. The publishing rights for the game in India were previously held by Tencent Games. However, following the Indian government’s decision to ban the game in the country, Bluehole Incorporated cut all ties with Tencent games and decided to take the publishing rights of the game into their own hands.
