PMGC Finals 2020 LAN Event Cancelled Due to Players Tested Covid Positive

The PMGC 2020 was a big success for Krafton during this Pandemic, as they have conducted this tournament online, the PMGC 2020 league stage ended on Dec 20th. During this tournament, the top 16 teams qualified to compete further in this tournament which is going to held in Dubai.

The PUBG Mobile Global Finals were going to start from Today as 21st Jan. All the qualified teams around the world will have to battle for a record-breaking prize pool of $1.2 million or around 8.50 crores rupees. This was the four-day event is organised in Coca Cola Avenue in Dubai, and this event was sponsored by OnePlus 8T 5G smartphone and the players are going compete on OnePlus 8T phones during the finals.

Tencent released an official statement of this on their Facebook page. The PMGC finals will not be a LAN event now as they have mentioned in their official statement that this event will be played from their respective isolation zone as three players tested positive for Covid-19.

The announcement also mentioned that three players who have tested positive haven’t shown any symptoms yet. All the players were put in quarantine with everyone else who came in contact with these players. The names of players have not yet revealed by Tencent.

Our team is providing all necessary support, including medical assistance from health facilities and we are dedicated to their full recovery,” Says Tencent. Due to this issue, Tencent has decided to make all players compete in the PMGC from isolation at their hotel instead of the LAN EVENT. They also said that the Safety and Health of their players is their “topmost priority”.
