The Halo Infinite Beta revealed that the upcoming Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC game does not have teammate player collision, which is a problem for many of the series’ most ardent fans. Players simply clip through teammates as if they aren’t there in the current build of the game. This may appear to be a major oversight, but it is how many multiplayer shooters handle player collisions. However, this is not how Halo has dealt with player collisions in the past.

Many Halo fans, including many content creators known for their Halo content and who will ultimately help popularise the new instalment, have taken to Twitter to call out and slam the lack of player collision in Halo Infinite.

“Teammate Player Collision is still not available in Halo Infinite. I feel like we’re missing out on a lot of potential fun and creative plays just to avoid bumping into people every now and then “When discussing the problem, Hidden Reach stated “Hopefully, 343 will recognise this in their next feedback article.”

“Halo [Infinite] is looking fantastic, but this is a massive problem,” Chris Ray Gun added. “I’m not sure if this is just a test or an optional feature, but the fact that no one on the team objected to this being the default setting worries me. It’s insane how many custom games are destroyed by this.”

At the time of publication, developer 343 Industries had not responded to this specific feedback, and it’s worth noting that the plan could be to add player collision for the final release. However, if this is the plan, it has not been communicated. Having said that, we will make sure to update the storey as soon as more information becomes available.

Halo Infinite is scheduled to release on December 8 via the Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC.
