GenG Wipes Out T1 in LCK 2021 Semifinals

T1’s recent run of success came to an end during their match against GenG. The former world champions failed to win a single game in the one-sided 3-0 series as GenG destroyed all of their strategies.
T1’s one-dimensional playstyle and GenG’s adaptive playstyle were on display in this League of Legends matchup. Although the games were not as exciting as other recent LCK matchups, Gen.G has a measured playstyle. They avoid risky plays in favour of steadily building up a lead before crushing their opponents.

Bdd received MVP votes in all matches for his strong performance, which overshadowed Faker in every single match of today’s series. He used Orianna and Syndra to keep his opponent in the middle lane under control and to decide team fights. His clean combos and command of those champions led to three decisive victories for his side.
The series started with a stomp by the GenG team, who finished the match in 38 minutes with no deaths despite a slow and methodical game. Bdd’s Orianna was the driving force behind his teammates’ win. His dominance of the mid lane opened up the map for his team, allowing them to secure all objectives and a clean win.

T1 banned out Bdd’s Orianna in the next two games, but he reverted to Syndra, another strong mid lane pick. There was a significant draft gap between the teams because, while T1 went for a reactive setup, Gen.G went for a proactive setup. All T1 attempted to do was countered by Gen.careful G’s playstyle. T1 managed to cling to a hope of victory after a couple of desperate plays, but was unable to sustain the lead as Gen.G quickly responded with massive blows. The series ended with a one-sided teamfight by Gen.G in the middle lane, allowing them enough time to complete the game.

GenG will now progress to the finals of the 2021 LCK Spring Split, where they will meet a very dominant DAMWON KIA. In their most recent regular-season meeting, GenG emerged victorious in a three-game series. DK’s explosive playstyle was not rewarded the last time, and they may change their strategy in the upcoming match.
