Fortnite has raised $36 million to support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

Epic Games confirmed the news via the official Fortnite Twitter account, stating that the funds will be donated to various aid organisations. The United Nations Children’s Fund, Direct Relief, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the World Food Programme are among these.

These figures were released shortly after the release of the latest season of Fortnite on Sunday, with Epic Games promising to donate all proceeds earned until April 3 to Ukraine. Additionally, Epic announced that Xbox will donate its net proceeds from Fortnite for the next two weeks. Only one day later, a whopping $36 million donation demonstrates that there is still serious money flowing into Fortnite.

Epic stated that it will send funds as “quickly” as possible and will not be waiting for funds from its various platform and payment partners.

“As transactions are reported, we’ll log them and send funds to humanitarian relief organisations within a few days,” Epic said.

Purchases that count toward Ukraine donations include all real-money purchases made between March 20 and April 3, 2022. Everything from V-Buck packs to cosmetic packs is covered. Retail store purchases of in-game V-Bucks and cosmetics will also be counted if redeemed by April 3.
