Esports: 100Thieves Nitr0 To Rejoin Team Liquid CSGO

According to 1pv.fr, Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella is on his way back to Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. nitr0, who left CS:GO in August 2021 to join 100 Thieves’ VALORANT team, was initially reported by Upcomer to be considering a return to Liquid.

Several reports suggested that Liquid would make a significant post-major roster change, with RushBMedia reporting that Jake “Stewie2K” Yip and Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo were among the first to seek a way out of the North American organisation. According to the 1pv.fr report, neither Michael “Grim” Wince nor Keith “NAF” Markovic were in the team’s future plans. That would leave only Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski from the PGL Major 2021 roster.

Globo reported earlier today that Liquid was also considering signing Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo, which would necessitate the Brazilian leaving his current team, FURIA Esports. According to an earlier report from 1pv.fr, French Counter-Strike legend Richard “shox” Papillon is also in advanced talks to join Liquid.

Before joining VALORANT, nitr0 was the In-Game Leader for Liquid during what was arguably the team’s most successful era. They won the IEM Grand Slam in 2019 after a hot streak that saw them briefly regarded as the best team in the world. During that time, Liquid’s roster was entirely made up of NA players. If the reported roster changes are implemented, nitr0 will only be reuniting with EliGE, with the rest of the 2019 squad departing for greener pastures, with Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken already playing for FaZe Clan.

With VINI and shox joining Liquid, the team would have a mostly international roster, though FalleN’s absence would necessitate the addition of a dedicated AWPer.
