Battlefield 2042: Fans Are Disappointed Over Some Missing Features
By: Hypron || Nov 13, 2021
Battlefield fans on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S are starting to get their hands on Battlefield 2042 through early access, which has revealed more missing features from the latest instalment, including some fairly basic features. Back in October, we reported on the dozens of previous game features that were missing in the new instalment, but the majority of these features were minor. It’s unclear why the game was stripped of so many features, but players have discovered another, which, unlike some of the previous features, is quite noticeable.
DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 currently lacks – and will continue to lack – in-game voice chat. According to DICE, the team is working on getting the feature ready in the near future, but there are no specifics on when it will be added, and it’s unclear why it’s missing in the first place. Whatever the case may be, the players are not pleased.

“So they removed in-game voice chat and the scoreboard that allows us to see our individual stats….is this even Battlefield?” one fan of the news speculated. “Why is this game missing so much basic stuff that other shooters have had for decades?” asked another fan.
As is customary, we will keep you updated as the situation develops. This includes updates not only on when the feature will be added, but also on whether DICE or EA decided to address the backlash the game has received since it was made available through early access.
Battlefield 2042 will be released globally on November 19, 2021, but it is currently available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
