Activision Announced Anti Cheat System for COD Warzone
By: Hypron|| Oct 14, 2021
Activision unveiled Call of Duty: Warzone’s new anti-cheat system, which will be available later this year after teasing a reveal that cheaters would despise. It’s called “Ricochet Anti-Cheat,” and it’ll be available in Warzone alongside the Pacific-themed Call of Duty: Vanguard update. It’s a kernel-level anti-cheat system, which means it’ll have “high access to monitor and manage software and applications on a PC” and will be required for PC users to play Warzone.
Activision and Raven Software have been hyping Warzone’s new anti-cheat plans for quite some time, and we finally learned more about Ricochet on Wednesday. A full rundown of what’s included in the anti-cheat package wasn’t discussed because it would give cheaters a blueprint for how to work around the systems, but Activision did provide a broad overview of Ricochet, along with a FAQ answering more specific questions about it.
When discussing the kernel-level quality of the Ricochet Anti-Cheat system, Activision also stated that the driver will “launch first” for Warzone, with the driver coming to Vanguard later.
This is RICOCHET Anti-Cheat – a new anti-cheat system arriving on Day 1 of #Warzone’s Pacific Update later this year.

“In addition to server enhancements coming with RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, Activision has announced the release of a new PC kernel-level driver, developed internally for the Call of Duty franchise and launching first for Call of Duty: Warzone.” “This driver will aid in the detection of cheaters while also reinforcing and strengthening overall server security. Later this year, the kernel-level driver will be released alongside the Pacific update for Warzone.”
“In its initial rollout on Call of Duty: Warzone, the kernel-level driver will only work when playing on PC,” Activision explained. “The driver is not always available. When you launch Call of Duty: Warzone, the software starts up and shuts down when you exit the game. Furthermore, the kernel-level driver only monitors and reports Call of Duty activity.”
Activision’s new Ricochet Anti-Cheat system will be available with Warzone’s Pacific update later this year, though no specific release date has been announced.
