LoL: T1 Disappoints 100Thieves as They Are Eliminated from Worlds 2021

After a disappointing loss to the LCK’s T1, 100Thieves became the first North American team to be eliminated from the 2021 League of Legends World Championship.
The Thieves had an impressive early game that kept them in contention with T1. T1 took the first blood, but 100Thieves quickly reacted by initiating a play in the bot lane. This play consisted of a four-man dive that used Abbedagge’s teleport and was followed by a gank from Closer. Despite the fact that they initiated the play, the situation appeared to be dire for the North American representatives, but a series of outplays from the FBI saved what would have been a lost battle. In the end, both the FBI and Abbedagge slipped through the cracks.

After the bot lane scuffle, nothing significant happened for the next 15 minutes. 100Thieves failed to effectively utilise their composition’s strengths, allowing T1 to maintain their gold lead through tower takes and CS leads. At the 28-minute mark, 100T went for their second dragon take, and T1 were too late to posture up. The Korean representatives quickly responded by rushing down Baron, effectively ending the game.
In the end, the North American first seed was too passive in the mid-game, failing to capitalise on their advantages or exploit the strengths of their team composition. This resulted in their demise.
With this loss, 100Thieves is now out of the 2021 League of Legends World Championship.Â
